"Highs in the 70s" is WXPN's monthly radio show hosted by Dan
Reed featuring an eclectic mix of music drawn from the
decade of the 1970s. Dan always does a great job of finding and
spinning everything from forgotten favorites, rare finds and one
hit wonders to music legend deep cuts along with the obscure
yet influential music of that decade. Whether it's an A to Z decade
overview, an intensive look at the Prog-Rock genre, or a year by
year rundown, "Highs in the 70s" is an ever-expanding
retrospective of the significant music realized during this
expansive period in contemporary music - plus it's alot of fun to
listen to.
This weekend, STAR'S END will have a go at presenting a
Spacemusic version of "Highs in the 70s". It was music from this
decade that defined the premise upon which STAR'S END was
founded, and positively influenced nearly every artist working in
the spacemusic genre ever since. Listening now to this music
released 20 or 30 years ago, one can still trace the influence of
much of today's modern Ambient music back to these essential
and enjoyable releases.
Tune in this weekend for a Spacemusic version of "Highs in the
70s" on the 08.12.07 broadcast of STAR'S END
