STAR'S END Update 05.18.08   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #325 of 407 |
Everyone knows how important listeners are to Public Radio
stations, especially during the perennial fund drives. Stations
like WXPN devote a fair amount of time asking you to help out by
calling in with a donation. Over the years we've come up with
some extremely good arguments to communicate our worthy
cause. We need your help to keep us connected to a vibrant
music community, and remain happily independent and devoted
to the music in the face of an increasingly corporate radio
landscape.

In the case of STAR'S END, it would be difficult to find a show of
this nature, scope and duration elsewhere on the radio dial - or
in the history of broadcasting. Surely this program, and the
others like it on WXPN, deserves your support! But this Spring
2008 Fundraiser, let's go beyond the impressive facts and
figures of Public Radio. Before you consider your relationship
with STAR'S END, please think about your relationship with the
music. Every week you hear works by an international cast of
musicians drawn from a library spanning several decades of
worthwhile releases. The offerings are of exceptional creative
realizations in music, and the connection people feel is very
strong.

You listen to STAR'S END because you are seeking music with
substance - expressions of the human spirit. STAR'S END
seeks to facilitate the broadcast of these unique artistic
expressions. Please help us continue to have a pivotal role in
Philadelphia's radio and cultural landscape as a presenter of
original contemporary works.

We're not asking just a few people to do alot, we're asking alot of
people to do a little. Please call in this weekend on the 05.18.08
broadcast of STAR'S END and make a pledge at:
1-800-565-WXPN, or pledge on-line at www.xpn.org

Thanks for your support!
