Besides my regular gigs, I'll be doing my patriotic duty by playing an election-related fundraiser this Sunday. If you're a Democrat up in North Austin and you're feeling a bit lonely, you can contribute to the party while meeting a bunch of like-minded folks and discovering you're not alone. Austin Kessler and the good folks at Live Oak UU Church, where I preached a few weeks back, are doing their patriotic duty, Austin-style: with music and barbecue. Citizenship never tasted so good.
