Do y'all remember when our prez named Iran a charter member of the "Axis of Evil?" Well, Dick Cheney's old company, Halliburton, has just signed a $310 million contract to help the Axis of Evil boost oil production. Not too smart of the Ayatollahs - hiring Halliburton is like painting "Invade Me" on your back. Just a few short years ago, Halliburton was making millions off Saddam.
It's the kind of news that could drive a man to drink - say, to sample 100 beers or more. So it's lucky I'm returning to B.B. Rover's this Saturday night, with special guest Karen Mal. Karen's astonishing soprano shows off some of the finest songwriting in town, and she's been winning contests from the redwood forests to the Gulf Stream waters. It's been a couple of years since we did a show together, and I'm looking forward to this one.
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 12, 9 p.m. to midnight
