It's not often I get to play a cruise ship, especially in the Texas Hill Country. This Saturday, you can catch a lovely sunset, lovely scenery, good food and good music, all on the Vanishing Texas River Cruise. The two-hour cruise of Lake Buchanan leaves the dock at 5 p.m., for a two-hour eco-tour around the lake. Can't think of a better way to get out in our all-too-brief spell of crisp fall weather.
Closer to home, I'll be opening next week for one of my favorite songwriters. John William Davis won Kerrville New Folk last year, and he's a one-of-a-kind performer. Bouncing back and forth between Colorado and the Florida swamps, he's Randy Newman and William Faulkner rolled into one, with a Tom Waits thrown in. He can hold his own with any of the above, and you can hear him up close and personal, in Paula's living room. You can find out more about him at www.losttribedreams.com.
Peace through Music,
Steve
