I've got a busy weekend before I head off to the Kerrville Folk Festival. Saturday I'll be emceeing the 30th Annual O.Henry Pun-Off, doing my part to keep Austin weird and keep the mother tongue on her toes. Come early to claim a shady spot and bring plenty of sunscreen. Afterwards, if you're not crowding into Auditorium Shores to hear Kris Kristofferson, I'll be part of a great musical lineup to benefit Chuck Freeman's Soul Talk, his entertaining and thought-provoking show on KOOP radio that balances, ever so slightly, the religious right.

And for those of you who missed the first round of Steve Brooks Karaoke last December, beware the Ides of June. Jim Comer enjoyed it so much he decided to host a second round. On June 15, you'll once again have the chance to peruse my 180 favorite songs, out of all I've written, and request ones you've never heard. It's a ways off, but you might want to put it on your calendar before you head off to Kerrville.
