Before I head out the door to the Kerrville Folk Festival, I wanted to let y'all know about a couple of upcoming events.
First off, as a couple of sharp-eyed readers pointed out to me, I had the day wrong on my upcoming Steve Brooks Karaoke house concert. It's Friday, June 15. Revised notice below.
I'm also letting interested folks know about a memorial celebration for my brother Chris, after Kerrville. Since so many of you were kind enough to send me notes of love and support in my hour of darkness, I figured I'd let my whole list know - don't want to miss anyone. It will be on a Thursday evening at Chris' favorite spot in Austin, Lou Neff Point. It's on the hike-and-bike trail, at the spot where Barton Creek runs into Town Lake, on the west bank of Barton Creek. Easiest way to get there is to park by Barton Springs and follow the trail along the creek. Chris loved to spend hours there feeding the birds, and they won't go away hungry that night. I welcome any prepared or spontaneous stories or eulogies, photos, loaves of bread, etc.
Frogs & Kisses,
Steve
