For those of you who are still catching up on sleep from the Kerrville Folk Festival, here's a last reminder about a unique house concert I'll be doing in North Austin this Friday. It's a variation on the No 2 Alike shows that Butch Hancock used to do. Listeners can choose from a list of 180 of my favorite Steve Brooks songs, and pass around a loose-leaf binder with all the lyrics. I'll play whatever songs the audience chooses. The first time we tried it, last year, the concert brought some delightful obscurities to light, with intriguing titles like "Just Say No to Sex" and "Elvis' Gig from Hell."
This week is also the time for me to send off my brother Chris in his favorite spot. If you met him during his years in Austin and would like to join me, the time and place are below. Good to bring some bread to feed to the birds.
Frogs & Kisses,
Steve
