I picked my time carefully for early voting - I was one of the few residents of Travis County who didn't have to wait in line. Oh, what a feeling! But I've got a couple more gigs this weekend, before time and American voters sweep the Bush administration into the dustbin of history.
I've spared y'all a lot of politics this election season, but I gotta say: I'm dreaming about waking up Wednesday morning and realizing that a black man has been elected President. After all the slime has been washed off this campaign, and after the dark night of the past eight years, Nov. 4 will be remembered as a transformational event in American history. It's the redemption of America's original sin. And we all get to be part of it.
That is, if we get out and vote. See you Tuesday night with that little sticker on your lapel.
