I'll be on the move all day Saturday. I'll play the morning at the Sunset Valley Farmer's Market and the evening at B.B. Rover's. Depending on the temperature, the Rover's show may be outside on the patio or indoors. Joining me at B.B.'s will be my old musical compadre and dear friend Mandy Mercier. If you've never heard Mandy, well, she can sing more emotion into one line than most of us can sing into a whole album. We'll undoubtedly do some of the songs of our mutual friend, the late, great Al Grierson, along with some Gram Parsons tunes and plenty of orginals. I'm looking forward to rocking out on guitar on some of Mandy's songs.
Here's the latest on the new album: I spent Tuesday in the studio with Chris Gage, laying down vocals on four songs: Will I Ever Love That Way Again, Riding Out the Storm, Love is a House and Walking With the Elders. I'll be back in the studio next Tuesday and Wednesday, and them I'm off to play in Houston and Galveston. I'll reappear in Austin just before Thanksgiving for a Mesa Ranch happy hour.
Thanks, as always, to those of you who have supported the album by pre-ordering it. If you haven't ordered your copy yet, you can click here to be magically transported to my online store.
