Where were you Tuesday morning? For a lot of us, it was one of those moments you never forget, like your first kiss, your first shot of tequila or your first Black president. Me, I was over in Westlake Hills, watching TV with Liz Carpenter and friends. The moment had an extra layer of meaning, since Liz worked for LBJ in the days of the Voting Rights Act. Four decades later, the circle was complete.
I won't be making that kind of history Sunday evening, but I will be playing my first Austin house concert in a year and a half. And for those who aren't familiar with all the songs on my upcoming CD, this concert in South Austin will be a preview, with a lot of songs I don't do in my bar gigs. To make things even more entertaining, Paula Held will be opening, with a batch of new songs that I think are among her best. Feel free to bring a guitar for a song circle afterwards. Or, you can pre-order the CD by clicking here.
Of course, if you prefer to catch a bar gig, you can head on down to Mesa Ranch next Tuesday and request "Amarillo By Morning." Yep, this Tuesday morning, I'll bet there were even folks celebrating in Amarillo.
