I haven't heard of anything current, but you might check with www.kwcusa.com to see if any of their information has been updated lately. There was talk of a former regional host moving to Kansas who would be hosting events there - and if that's true, he would also likely host the Region 5 finals this year - but I haven't heard if that actually happened or not.

 

Unfortunately, we have withdrawn as KWCUSA hosts for this season. There are a couple of reasons for doing this, but the main one right now is the lack of a venue. The Country Stampede (formerly known as The Painted Lady) is moving to a newer, smaller location just down the street - and when they reopen, karaoke won't be on the entertainment menu. We had a 6-month agreement with them that ended last month to provide karaoke services at a largely discounted rate in the hopes that we would be able to build something there. Unfortunately, that didn't happen - for several other reasons I won't go into, but not related to karaoke!

 

There are other locations that we could rent, but I'm not sure we could bring in enough money in soda sales and 50/50 drawings to cover the rent. We would absolutely love to be able to open up our own karaoke nightspot, but costs are the main obstacle right now. Anybody know any millionaires that wouldn't mind being a silent partner?

 

So we've decided to take some time off from hosting shows for a while and just enjoy being singers again. We'll get back out there again someday and when we do, we'll be searching for other national talent contests to participate with as well.
