For those of you meaning to come check us out at the Country
Stampede, but just never got around to it, you've got one last chance.

Thursday, Dec 28 will be our LAST show at the Country Stampede in
Fayette. We'll be there 9pm-Midnight. If there's a big crowd, we may
play until 12:30 or so.

The Stampede is moving down the street into a new (and smaller)
location. Unfortunately, the new location does not include room for a
karaoke setup at this time. Maybe in the future, I don't know. But
due to the frequently low turnouts at the present location, karaoke
at the new location is not in the current plans.

This also strikes a blow to our plans for participation in the 2007
KWCUSA season. Regretfully, I see no other course of action but to
resign as host of the Region 5 finals and to cancel the local
qualifying rounds scheduled for February 2007.

Special thanks to everyone who came out and supported us and we look
forward to seeing and hearing you again where ever we may end up.

OK folks, you're the first ones to hear this regarding our local qualifying for the 2007 KWCUSA competition. Honestly, I've been wavering back and forth about whether or not I really wanted to do this again this year. There's always going to somebody who is unhappy with the way things turn out, I know. And to those people who don't like the results in April, I apologize in advance. It doesn't sound like much, but everyone who competed last April had outstanding voices and talent. It was truly a shame that I couldn't give 1st place trophies to everyone.

In April, we qualified 6 people for the USA National Finals. Unfortunately not everyone was able to participate at nationals, but 2 people we sent on represented us well - JD Hoffman finished 3rd among the men and Amanda Stumbaugh finished 3rd among the women. At the World Finals in Miami, FL, Amanda & JD each finished in the top 10 for men and women, along with our Region 5 women's champion Nicole Hanlin.

This will be our 4th year of participation with KWCUSA, and this time around the world finals are scheduled to be held in Australia! I'll share more details regarding that as soon as they become available.

OK - now for qualifying round info. We will begin qualifying rounds in February, 2007, at the Country Stampede in Fayette, MO (formerly the Painted Lady). Currently, we are looking at February 1, 8, and 15 for qualifying rounds, with the local finals to be held on Thursday, February 22 (Dates are subject to change, but this is our current game plan). As always, men and women will compete separately and contestants must be 21 years of age or older and be of amateur status. Now for the big news - there will be NO entry fee for contestants entering during our qualifying round, however, we will require there be at least 2 contestants (2 males/2 females) to hold a contest.The top male and top female will advance to our local finals on February 22.

Any contestants who wish to enter directly into the local finals and bypass the qualifying rounds may do so by paying a $30 entry fee.

The top 3 men and top 3 women will advance to the Missouri State Finals (date/location to be determined).

The top 3 men and top 3 women at the state finals in MO, KS, IA, OK, and MN will advance to the Region 5 finals in Fayette, MO (Date to be determined)
