Radio Free Rock and Radio Free Pittburgh proudly present the world-
wide internet premiere of 'A Good Life' the brand new CD from Joe
Grushecky.

Joe's August 2006 solo release "A Good Life" features pure
unadulterated guitar based rock and initmate performances. Joe and
Bruce Springsteen rock out on their co-written grammy winning
song "Code of Silence" and three other cuts. Joe's "Too Hot to
Think" is a streamy bluesy story of man who got burned. "Beauty
Fades" quietly reflects "Beatuy fades dreams disappear ...That's
just life". "The title song celebrates the simple pleasures of "A
Good Life". Guitarist Rick Witkoski produced the CD at Studio L.

No Surrender Live at The Wonder Bar in Asbury Park Sat. Dec 10

No Surrender, the NJ Based Springsteen Tribute Band, is coming to the
home of Madam Marie, Tillie, and Sandy for a performance this Saturday
Night, December 10th at The Wonder Bar in Asbury Park, NJ, located at
the corner of 5th and Ocean Ave and the show begins at 10 p.m.

We'd like to thank all of those who came out to the Toys-for-Tots
Benefit at Stingers this past Friday. The Band had a great time and it
was nice getting to know some of you after the show.

We hope you had a good time and can make it out to The Wonder Bar on
Saturday Night to re-live the days when The Circuit was lined and
jammed with chromed invaders. Thanks for your continued support.

I just found an easy way to pick up tickets for the only Springsteen
concert in select theaters for one night only, Monday, November 14th @
7 PM. The website is www.bigscreenconcerts.com. I've seen Bruce and
the E Streeters perform live, but I'm not going to miss this chance to
see live footage from the 1975 Hammersmith Concert, which I have heard
is the only full-length concert ever produced from the band's first 25
years. This would be great to see on the big screen.

I'm sure that this will come as no surprise to you but I speak from
experience when I tell you that 99.9% of programs that claim they
save you money don't save you a penny. This is why I am so excited to
have stumbled across the program that I am about to tell you about. A
couple of weeks ago I couldn't sleep and decided to turn on the TV.
As fate would have it a show was in progress for a company whose
website is http://savemorethanever.com To make a long story short
this company was showcasing their products. They offer a grocery
coupon program that allows you to choose the coupons you want for
what you buy, a restaurant gift certificate book which enables you to
receive free gift certificates to eat out and a discount Kodak film
developing program that gives you free film for every roll that you
develop. I don't recall ever seeing these other "fly by night"
companies having one hour television programs. So the next morning I
did my homework, I checked this company out with the better business
bureau and found that they have a very favorable rating so I signed
up for their sampler package right away. It took 6 days to receive my
complete kit. I immediately started using the program when I received
it and I have to tell you that in just three days I saved over $68.00
in grocery expenses and earned $40.00 in restaurant gift
certificates...in just 3 days!!! Finally a program that does what it
claims.

Here are some actual receipts too: http://storereceipts.com

see if someone would be interested in trading for a concert or other
Springsteen recordings.

The documentary begins with Bruce as a teenager and finishes with "the
Rising" and explores Bruce's career as a writer, musician an
recording artist. I do not have the listing for the second part yet,
but I do have the second part. It is 3 one hour radio programs.

Featuring new and exclusive interview material with The Boss,

Johnnie Walker presents a three-part series profiling the rock
superstar. Notoriously selective about his interviews, Bruce
Springsteen has opened up to Radio 2 exclusively and in-depth,
talking about his life and music from the 1960s to 2003.

In the first programme, Johnnie follows Bruce's journey to stardom,
culminating in the release of the hit single Born To Run and his
first European tour.

We join Bruce, the son of a factory worker and a secretary in his
childhood home in New Jersey and follow him through the trials and
tribulations of a strict Catholic upbringing.

Bruce's mother bought him his first guitar, and he soon formed his
first band, The Castiles. The Partridge Family songwriter turned
star-maker, Mike Appel took Bruce under his wing and signed him to
Columbia Records. Commercial success eluded the young Springsteen,
however, until one day, in a tiny New Jersey shack, he came up with
Born To Run and a meeting with the former journalist Jon Landau
turned a near-disaster into glorious triumph.

Born To Run turned Bruce into a superstar, although his rapid rise
to fame included a humiliating first visit to London. His career was
once again sidelined when a vicious legal dispute stripped him of
the rights to his own songs.

The programme features exclusive interview material with The Boss
himself, along with comments from former band members and business
associates. A selection of fellow songwriters, including Billy Bragg
and Badly Drawn Boy, reflect on the enduring appeal of the man who
remains something of an enigma even to his most devoted fans.

Hey everybody, just wanted to let you know that the Rickie Lee Jones
anthology, Duchess of Coolsville, came out a couple days ago on June
28th, and I can already tell you it's amazing! There is so much great
music to listen to with three discs full of demos, hard to find tracks,
and songs that were never released. One of my favorite parts of the
anthology is a booklet inside the CD jacket with quotes about Rickie
Lee from respected artists like Mary Chapin Carpenter, Quincy Jones,
and Fiona Apple, tons of rare photos, as well as commentary by Rickie
Lee Jones herself. With over three hours of music you get a little bit
of everything, but some of my favorite tracks are the live version
of "My Funny Valentine," her collaboration with Dr. John on "Makin'
Whoopee!" and the re-mastered version of "We Belong Together." I
strongly encourage everyone to check out this wonderful anthology and
if you want a preview, check out the listening party here

VOTE FOR CHANGE

Why vote for change my friends, because George W. Bush has not
lived up to his promises and duty. Furthermore he has lied and in
general taken the country in the wrong direction.

After the horrible events of September 11, 2001 Mr. Bush made a
speech in witch he boldly proclaimed that he wanted Osama bin
Laden "dead or alive". Today is November 1, 2004 3 years and 51 days
after the fact and Mr. Bush still has not delivered on those words.
Mr. Bush has used our military, our sons and daughters to defy as ho
puts it "the civilized world" and take over 2 countries, but still he
has not done what he promised in that speech shortly after September
11, 2001.

Mr. Bush has taken this country to war in Iraq for unjust
reasons. In his State Of The Union address in 2003, he laid out his
case for war in Iraq, saying that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass
destruction (WMD), was developing nuclear capabilities and was part
of the 9/11/2001 terrorist plot. As of today November 1, 2004 no WMD
has been found and the inspectors say that Iraq had not possessed WMD
since 1991 and that their nuclear capabilities were declining not
advancing. As of today no link between Saddam Hussein and al Quadia
has been proven and Defense Secrectary Donald Rumsfeld has publicly
admitted that there was a link. Till this day has Mr. bush apologized
to the nation, to us the citizens that gave him his job, no he has
not? My friends I say to you if a leader can not apologize to his
people how can he lead. Instead of apologizing he is continually
coming up with new reasons to justify the war, and to quote
Presidential candidate John Kerry in his Rolling Stone interview "you
don't justify a war after the fact".

My friends I am not saying to you that John Kerry has all the
answers, but I know that George Bush doesn't. The simple fact is that
President Bush has had four years to prove himself, and I say to you
he has not. So let's give someone else a chance. My friends let's try
a new direction because this one is not working, so tomorrow when you
go to the polls cast your vote for a DIFFERENT AMERICA.

Thank You,
     Peter

Hey!

Check this out! Springsteen is going on a new tour this October to
help beat bush. And you can get pre-sale tickets by signing up at
http://www.moveonpac.org/vfc/.

See below for the email from MoveOn! Be sure to spread the word!

Thanks,
Lisa

Dear MoveOn member,

We've always believed that popular culture and populist politics go
hand in hand. That's why MoveOn PAC is very proud to be presenting a
truly historic cultural event: the Vote for Change Tour, featuring
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, the Dave Matthews Band,
Pearl Jam, R.E.M., the Dixie Chicks, John Mellencamp, Jackson Browne,
Bonnie Raitt, James Taylor, Babyface, Death Cab for Cutie, Ben
Harper, Jurassic 5, My Morning Jacket, Keb' Mo' and Bright Eyes. The
tour will benefit America Coming Together (ACT). As Mike Mills of
R.E.M. said, "this unprecedented coming together of musicians
underscores the depth of the desire for change in our country's
direction."

For more information, and to sign up for pre-sale tickets, go to:

http://www.moveonpac.org/vfc/

Never before have so many world-famous musicians come together to
shift the balance in an election. But these artists created the Vote
for Change tour because they feel that this is the most important
election in our nation's history. The schedule is designed to make a
maximum impact: each of the concerts will occur in a key battleground
state during the first and second weeks of October.

Like many MoveOn members, most of the artists have never been
involved in electoral politics before. And like many of us, they're
jumping in now because they believe there's just too much at stake on
November 2nd to sit on the sidelines. Here's how Dave Matthews put
it:

"A vote for change is a vote for a stronger, safer, healthier
America. . . It is our duty to this beautiful land to let our voices
be heard. That's the reason for the tour. That's why I'm doing it."

Tickets go on sale to the public on Saturday, August 21st, but we
have hundreds of tickets to each show that we'll be able to offer to

That's a little strange because I know of the Johnny Black Band
based in NYC that has definate roots in Rock and Blues with
Springsteen and Jim Morrison Influences together with a John Lennon
Philosiphy. Great original songs and a super stage presence.
