Hey guys ... sorry it's been so long since my last post ... things
have been absolutely crazy around here ... Dean lost his dad in late
April so he was up in Jersey for a while ... 1 month later, his dad's
best friend and a good flying buddy of Dean's passed away so he came
up again for yet another funeral ... it's been hard for all of us,
but especially him ... I went down to visit father's day weekend to
keep him busy, and we had a good time, but it's tough for him right
now ... I'm hoping to post and chat more often, but work has been
crazy and I'm trying like heck to catch up ... anyone been to any
Moody concerts lately? ... I missed them when they were in AC last,
had a complete mix up with tickets ... the last show I saw was in
Newark ... it was great, but without Dino, it wasn't the same ...
hope everyone is doing well ... talk with you soon

ciao for now

Please convey our condolences to Dean, Maryanne. It must be a very
difficult time for him and he is so lucky to have a dear friend like
you to help him through.

Good to hear from you. I was also at Newark. We really have got to
let each other know where we are gonna be. Patty and dan were both
there as well.

Thanks Lori, I know he'll get through it OK ... it's just a matter of
time ... As for the Newark show, I figured u guys would be there, and
I looked and looked ... thought I saw Patty, but then she was
gone ... there were soooo many people, it's no wonder I didn't see
u ... next concert in the area we have got to meet up again ... I
miss seeing all your faces :) ... please keep me posted on
moodyfest ... I'm going to try to get Dino up here for a few things
this fall ... maybe it'll all be the same weekend, and we'll be able
to see everyone

ciao for now

---Hi Maryanne, it was good to see you post!  I'm so sorry for Dean;
please let him know we're thinking about him. I should email him; I
haven't talked with him since we had dinner when we were in Florida
on vacation; shame on me for being so slack. I've been going to
Vegas for the shows but they may not be back until spring so you just
might see me up North at some point! If I make any plans I'll be
sure and let you know. Come by more often!

Mar: Thnaks for stopping by. So sorry about Dean's dad. Please pass
along my prayers to him and the family.
I think we did pass in the hall in Newark.

Hello. I visited your chat room just now and no one was there to chat to. It
is my understanding that you meet Sunday nights at 8 EST. I live in Oklahoma
and visited the room at 9 CST. Did I miss the time sequence or maybe it just so
happened that no one chatted tonight. I really would like to chat on your group
site.

Thanks. sk

Hi there! I have not visited here for a long time, so I am not sure
if anyone chats on Sundays anymore. We USED to and had a great time,
I don't think the chats have happened for a number of years. Maybe
next time Dan checks in he can update that or maybe someone who has
chatted recently can fill you in.

Thanks for the fast reply! That's too bad if no one chats
anymore....I just wanted to ask a question about the Moody Blues. I
wanted to know more about the faith.

the original members of this group. Unfortunately, none of the
regular group posts here or chats here anymore. I hardly recognize
any of the posters! It's a real shame because we used to have a ball
but interest has died down, it seems. There are other groups out
there you might enjoy, though. Good luck!

I just happened to stop by here tonight, and I am glad I did. Hello,
Carla and Shirley. Carla, how have you been? I was thinking about
the Sewell concert today and how close we were to the guys--we were
in fifth row. We had such a good time at that show visiting with
members of this group. We got our seats for Fleetwood Mac (Kristin's
favorite band of all time) through Kristin's membership in the
official fan club--sixth row in Hershey. You should visit Shirley
and the rest of us at Stefan's board sometime. I do miss the chats
and the posting here. It would be nice to get the old members back
on here again. Nice seeing you again!

I would like to visit....how do I get there....just go to the official web
site???

I have never been to a concert where I sat in the 1st few rows....what IS that
like? I always end up in the nosebleed section or off to the corner...that is
one of my goals before I die now...

I am so glad you stopped by Linda....so good to hear from you!!

what's it like?-VERY LOUD! unless you can handle the extreme volume
level down there,i wouldn't recomend it.i was in the 4th row for the
allman brothers & 5th row for yes-both in august of 2002 at jones
beach-& it hurt! besides-a lot of people don't realize that the view
of the stage that close is terrible-the viewing angle is too
extreme.i personally prefer being between the 15th & 25th rows-i
think they're the best seats in the house for both overall viewing
angle & sound.i also have season tickets for the n.y.liberty(wnba-
women's basketball)at madison square garden.i turned down seats just
above courtside for the same reason stated above.my seats are about
1/4 of the way up,dead center.i would rather see all the action than
be physically close to
the "celebreties".

i don't care about "celebreties".i'm paying a band to perform a
service for me-to play their music.their celebrety status does not
impress me-only their musical accomplishments.being physically close
doesn't thrill me-i would rather have a better viewing angle for the
entire stage-the back parts included(which you can't see well if
you're too close).in addition,the sound is overwhelmingly loud &
distorted if you're too close.don't get me wrong-i like it very loud-
but clean.i don't like the bouncing echoes that you get when you're
right on top of the sound
system.

I like getting up close also. It is a special treat when it happens,
cos it does nothappen very often. I tend to to go the concerts with
lots of friends and we like to sit together. It is much easier to
get close seats if you buy only one or two tickets at a time.

I will also be honest and admit it is not just the music that makes
me want to be up close. lol.

this is just what i meant-this sort of thing does not impress me.i'm
there for the OVERALL EXPERIENCE.from that point of view,15th-25th
rows if on the floor,or if on the side(in an indoor
hockey/basketball-type arena),the first 10 rows between the hockey
bluelines are the best seats in the
house.

I like a fairly close seat to the proceedings, but I'm not fanatical about
it. For one of the Atlantic City shows in June, I'm center Mezzanine,
roughly 16 rows back.

That's close enough for me.

that's perfect.that's right where i would want to be.if there's a
balcony overlooking the stage, first row center there is it.radio
city would be a perfect example of that.for the 6 games that the
n.y.liberty are playing there this summer(they're getting kicked out
of madison square garden for over a month because of the republican
convention),that's where i am.same thing at the beacon theater.i'm
going there to see dennis de young(formerly of styx)on may 15th,& i
have first balcony,row a,left center.as for the moody blues(june
13th at pnc bank arts center)-ain't on sale yet.waiting.at that
place,i don't mind getting lawn general admission.it's further
back, but i like sitting on the grass & the freedom to move around.i
can even lay down if i wish(or need to-but that's another
story).it's also a lot cheaper(up close seats for concerts at most
n.y.c.area venues are now going for average over $90 each-pnc lawn
g.a.tickets are around half
that).

Hi, I am a new member. I would like to introduce myself. I am a female, married,
DOB 2/11/57 & have been interested in The Moody Blues since the 70's. I live in
the UK in a town called Swindon, Justin Haywards birthplace!!  I had a friend
who went to the same school as Justin & he could always recall him strumming his
guitar during lunch break. Sometime during the late 70's I went into Threshold
Music Shop in Swindon & bought Octave, the assistant said this is a special
edition as it has been personally handsigned by The Moody's
(Justin,Ray,Graeme,John & Michael).  It is still in very good condition as I
have kept it in a case & bring it out occasionally to play it.  Are there any
Moody fans out there that would also like to share their stories?  Would love
to hear from you.

I just saw them in Santa Barbara, California last week and then again in
Thousand Oaks last night.
The sound quality at the Arlington theater in Santa Barbara wasn't that well
EQ'd but last night was pretty good.
Unfortunately John's voice last night was a bit strained,
I think he has over did it recently,
or maybe he was sick.
My only casual encounter with the Moodies was back in the 70's after
Michael Pinder had left the group he came into the tropical fish store I managed
and bought a cockatiel from me.
Back in those days you used carbon paper for copies of their credit card and I
kept the carbon portion as a momento.

Yes, I remember the carbon paper copies for credit cards, thanks for jogging my
memory Paul, 70's seem yonks ago now. Though I immensely like the Moodies I've
never seen them live yet but I'm not ruling it out!!  Will have to find out when
their coming to Britain again.
