I'm a great admirer of this song and have been thwarted in my attempts
to get the Boys' version

It's not at Apple's iTunes site nor other downloaders I've checked out.

I understand it's only available on Soccer Rocks the Globe and the
1994 - Time Traveller 4 CD box set, neither of which are easily
accessible (or affordable!)

Is there a guy or girl who would consent please to an offlist swap? I
know you're out there somewhere

Yours in anticipation - Colin (in UK but it's now a very shrunken
world))

Probably. I try to avoid the area as much as I can. I used to love to go to
Austin. It was big but had a small town kind of atmosphere. Not anymore. I'd
just as soon go to San Antonio and walk the River Walk. I do like going up
around New Braunsfels. It is beautiful there also.

oh, how I read and hear that Austin is huge, and of course to me in
the sixties it was pretty dang large! I recall when Round Rock was a
Sunday drive into the country and now it's a surburb? Buda was a long
country drive from what I recall. I wonder if there's total
development between it, and Austin now. lastly, Lake Austin was a
really good drive from Austin city limits...same thing? total
development?

It's a large area but also surrounds Austin. I am thinking about Georgetown or
there abouts. Austin has grown up quite a bit and too crowded for me now. I
like the smalltown life. I will hunt that area when I am ready. My daughter
lives in Killeen so she will be glad to see me up there. My son won't. He
lives here in Anahuac now. I will miss my grandkids though.

Oh, I used to love the hill country around Austin! What wonderful
memories, you bet. Is that the direction or area you may move to? or
is there more than one hill country area?

Pat, thanks for the replies and I'm right there with ya on it.

It ocurred to me that some of you surely know a lot more about the
band itself. Do any of you know if one member is more known for having
written the lyrics, than the others? Are there books I can read and
learn more about their inspirations on these songs that I've cherished
since the seventies?

I'm there, as you can tell, a huge fan but more of the music than the
members only because I've been too busy to read up on them, etc. I
just haven't taken the time while I thrive on the music, prefer it
above all music, etc. and have for many years.

Are all of the original members still alive and fine? still in the
group? are they all from britain? This is how little I know about them
while I dig the music a ton.

I hope they know how much we all dig their music, to say the least.

I really like small town life. I was born in Chicago and lived there for nine
years and then to Texas. We lived for seven years in Texarkana which was still
too big. When my mom remarried, we moved to Queen City which is extremely
small. I lived way out in the country, learned to plow (behind a horse, mind
you...lol), raise chickens (including killing, plucking and cleaning them),
milking cows, etc. It was hard work but a great time for me. I miss it.
Anahuac is, indeed, rich in history. It is a nice, quiet little town, except
for Gator Fest time. Then it is loud because a LOT of people come for the music
and alligators. I go for the crafts. I enjoy that.
You would enjoy coming here for a visit but pick the Fall or Spring before the
heat and mosquitoes get bad.
I think all of Texas is beautiful. It offers something for everyone. If I
ever leave here I will probably move to the hill country. It si gorgeous there
and away from the hurricanes. lol

I wanted to say welcome, also. I too am a believer and He is coming soon. The
early church used to say Mara natha. It means He is coming. I look at the
world around us and there is no other explanation for what I believe. The Bible
prophecies are coming true daily. There is an urgency now.

Howdy Wayne, and nice to meet you, too. I share your belief that He
can't be too many more years not returning. (by the way, I respect
ALL beliefs, am not preaching here and am not affected by folks that
don't believe He's even Lord or returning, etc...just sharing mine
and will enjoy hearing various beliefs, etc, for real!)

I read in the news how some scientists in some nation are determined
to create a life form that's part animal, part human. I read that
scientists have created a fake form of an "out of body" experience.
Cloning is already reality and the implications of how far that may
be taken is mind boggling, to me anyway. So, though many don't
believe we have a God that is creator we have scientists that are
creating, Hmm, and yet the God per my beliefs, that I pray to, He
really IS God and so He won't sit back much longer, in that amazing
patience He has, while man literally and in applications "becomes
his own god" and god for many of us.

Meanwhile science is finding a gene for everything, supposedly. A
gene for even obsessive shopping! I read that, didn't make it up and
am like, "yeah, right." To me, what science is doing is becoming
creator and savior, determined to save us from the responsibility of
our actions, our sicknesses and weaknesses, in essence saving us
from a conscience cuz if nothing is our fault then the conscience
can just die or wither away. (we do have a no-fault society in so
many ways, insurance, divorce....)

So for my motormouth self to hush, grinning a bit....the God I
believe in has to return, to send Jesus back and pretty darn soon,
or He won't BE God. I think His patience is surely thin by now.

Oh, How I appreciate these lyrics!

"Eternity Road"

Hark listen here he comes
Hark listen here he comes
Turning, spinning, catherine wheeling
For ever changing
There's no beginning
Speeding through a charcoal sky
Observe the truth we cannot hide

Travelling eternity road
What will you find there?
Carrying your heavy load
Searching to find a piece of mind.

You'll see us all around
You'll see us all around
Turning, spinning, catherine wheeling
For ever changing
There's no beginning
You're so very far from home
And so very much alone

Travelling eternity road
What will you find there?
Carrying your heavy load
Searching to find a piece of mind.

Travelling eternity road
What will you find there?
Carrying your heavy load
Searching to find a piece of mind.

Great chat all. Those of us who remember the Moody Blues in the 60s and 70s,
have really seen some serious evolution in music. For me, for the most part
sadly, it has not been positive. My wife is into popular music. I sat and
watched a video she likes called 'My Humps' by the Black Eyed Peas. I really
believe Jesus will be back soon, very soon.

Bottom line, nothing touches or moves my soul like the Moody Blues,
for pure music, and the only thing that comes close is, because of

but even that I have to be in the mood for.

Howdy again, Pat. It's so good to learn about your area of that great
state. I shake my head at myself and the fact that the name of your
town didn't ring a bell. Shame on me! What a cool place and rich in

Of course I couldn't agree with you more about the three locations,
but I can't agree on Michigan cuz I have never been there and just
can't relate, but in principle I can disagree respectfully because I
am convinced that there's good and bad in every location,
however...just a principle. You know Michigan and I don't.

Hubby's job is here on Oahu, so for more than 13yrs. we've lived here,
only cuz of the job. I gotta tell ya, I don't think it's my

store, for example, more people are willing to return a smile, get eye
contact and even speak than folks here on Oahu.

I live in the small town of Anahuac on the mouth of the Trinity River about 50
miles east of Houston. I love it here. It is a quiet town. We have a big
history though. The first shots of the Texas Revolution were fired here when
William Barrett Travis was arrested. They got him out. The Mexicans had a fort
here that guarded the river. It was used during the Civil War also. It no
longer stands but there is a part there now. We have a Gator Fest in September
during Alligator season. We are the Gator Capital of Texas. Have more
alligators then people in our county. lol It's pretty good eating if cooked
right. I like it in boudain.
We have great fishing, bird hunting and we have wonderful bird watching here
also.
I like it because it is usually peaceful and we are close enough to Houston
and Beaumont to have fun if we want it.

That's an excellent choice to introduce a beginner to the Moody Blues. In my
case, the Moody Blues are of no importance to my wife. She listenes to C&W,
which has a a billion versions of truck, booze, "cheatin spouses" and will you
take me back stories. . People who don't like or can't get into the Moody Blues
lack a soul. Nor are they able to identify with the lyrics and the quality of
the voices. Understanding the instrumental ingenius sounds created by the Moody
Blues is beyond many people. Each of Moody Blues songs are unique, both in
lyrics and sound. A good assignment for the non-believers of the Moody Blues is
to put them in solitary confinemet and force them to listen to Rap 24 hrs a day
for a solid month.

I listened to the Moody Blues (all of their work) on my MP3 player all day.
The Moody Blues can turn a crappy day into something far better.

Oh yes They are still the Moodies and great show!!! They threw in a few
songs never done before on stage that I remember!! Unfortunately I forget the
names. They had a large screen behind them and it would flash old pictures of
the group and the album the song was from!!! The blue lights that people bought
everywhere were truly cool and especially threw such songs as The other Side
of Life and I know you are out there somewhere these lights really something
else as they waved in the air to the beat of the songs!! Radio City is truly
a great place to see the Moody Blues!!
Continue on your musical Journey !!!!

They still have a good Moodies sound, however, the female voices are a bit

I'm with you there Tom. I would love to see another studio album from the
Moodies. But I heard in a recent interview with Justin that the majority of
the fans seem to want more DVDs. I love the DVDs as well, but a new studio
album would really be nice.

I saw the group without Ray for the first time this month at Radio City . I
just wish they would attempt Legend on my Mind without Ray since I love that
song so much. I also wish they put Veteran Cosmic Rocker back into the set
like it was many years ago!!! GREAT CONCERT HOWEVER!! I have seen the group at
Jones Beach many times but always wanted to see them at Radio City and it was
  well worth it!!!
My other complaint of the group 's set list is the encore!!! ONE SONG!!!!!
RIDE MY SEE SAW ONLY!!
Great song but way to short for a encore!! Minimum you should have two or
three songs as a encore!!
I am complaining a lot here and it was truly a great concert but you now can
hear the female background voices more than before. Love they gave Edge a
spotlight for a song!! Now lets hope they decide to hit the studio again and
make another album!!!

I joined last year? and this group was so slow, and so after a few
weeks I stopped even looking, and now this is a very cool surprise to
find so many posting!

I'm a native Texan, but living in Hawaii cuz hubby's job is here,
50yrs. old and been hooked on the Moody blues since the seventies.

I hope to see them live someday, like any true fan surely feels. I was
raised with all kinds of music, from country, classic country, top
forty of the day to my choice of classic rock, and contemporary
christian music, but above all of it is THE music that moves my very
soul, and that is of course this group that has brought us all
together.

Nice to "meet" everyone.

I feel blessed to have seen them twice with Ray still with them. I feel for
those who have just discovered them and have not experienced his voice. I loved
his solos also. Justin may be my favorite but Ray was special.

Yes, I have been a Neil Diamond fan since I was 16 and heard Shilo. I saw him
twice in concert when I was in my 20s. The second time, my son was due the 29th
of January (he came the 2nd of February) I was in the Summit (Now the Compact
Center) in Houston with 60,000 other people. My ex was fretting. He wouldn't
even let me stay for the encores. lol Neil is a poet laureate I think. His
songs touch the heart too.

I used to have a number of the Moodies vinyls, but they didn't get to me from
the divorce. Have no idea what he did with them. My pride and joy was a 45
with Justin, John, and a number of other famous British stars doing a song to
try to help keep Dr. Who on the air. Losing that is heartbreaking.

This is my last message until I get back from my trip. Have a great week,
guys.

Hi Pat: Thanks for very nice note. I selected Corpus, because of my previous
military assignments there. Alwys loved being there, even with the high humidy.
I have you beat on being older by about 10 yrs. Points out again how the Moody
Blues appeal to all ages, if the listener takes the time to hear the words and
what is told. It's gets into one's soul. I have some vinly's of the Blue jays,
but not presently with me. I've just begun on collecting the solos. I did
Justin's "The View" the other day, but haven't taken time to listen to it. I
also saw the PBS show at red Rocks. How could anyone not get hooked on them, if
not before. I did buy the VHS. Not sure if it's now on DVD. Something else
for me to check. ray's vice was/is distinctive and gives me a mental picture of
royality and nobility. We can at least dream he'll come back. Just like film,
the audio on tapes, CD and even DVD gives us a way to continue hearing them
during our remaining years of our
journey. You are fortunate to have a dentist who is fan. Lucky you! I still
have Neil Diamond on my favorite list and have most of his CD's. He's a rare
performed, also.

   MB Rule,
   Hank

           Hello, Hank,

Corpus is a beautiful area to winter. I live way east of there. I am in Anahuac
which is about 50 miles east of Houston.
Yes, getting older can definitely have its disadvantages and the life the
Moodies have had to live on the road would definitely be draining. I will be 54
in September and can appreciate that. I will definitely miss Ray. His voice was
so beautiful. As for the flute music, there was nothing like it.
I was turned to them in the 70s also...in college. I knew Nights and also Singer
in a Rock n Roll Band but didn't even know who did the songs. My ex loaned me
Days of Future Past and I listened to it all the time. He told me their other
stuff wasn't worth listening too. Just one more lie..lol Neil Diamond had to
move over as number one performer in my life. I saw the Red Rocks concert on PBS
and was totally hooked. I knew then that their music was, all of it, incredible.
I even bought as much of their solo and the duo cds as I could find. I found out
that my dentist was a big fan and that he had all their stuff on reel to reel.
We would talk Moodies while I was in the dentist chair.
I will continue to hope they will come to Houston again.
Enjoy your wintering in Texas
