Yes, I remember the carbon paper copies for credit cards, thanks for jogging my
memory Paul, 70's seem yonks ago now. Though I immensely like the Moodies I've
never seen them live yet but I'm not ruling it out!! Will have to find out when
their coming to Britain again.

I just saw them in Santa Barbara, California last week and then
again in Thousand Oaks last night.
The sound quality at the Arlington theater in Santa Barbara wasn't that well
EQ'd but last night was pretty good.
Unfortunately John's voice last night was a bit strained,
I think he has over did it recently,
or maybe he was sick.
My only casual encounter with the Moodies was back in the 70's after
Michael Pinder had left the group he came into the tropical fish store I managed
and bought a cockatiel from me.
Back in those days you used carbon paper for copies of their credit card and I
kept the carbon portion as a momento.

Hello and welcome to the site. I, too, am a huge fan of The Moodies--especially

Hi, I am a new member. I would like to introduce myself. I am a female, married,
DOB 2/11/57 & have been interested in The Moody Blues since the 70's. I live in
the UK in a town called Swindon, Justin Haywards birthplace!! I had a friend
who went to the same school as Justin & he could always recall him strumming his
guitar during lunch break. Sometime during the late 70's I went into Threshold
Music Shop in Swindon & bought Octave, the assistant said this is a special
edition as it has been personally handsigned by The Moody's
(Justin,Ray,Graeme,John & Michael). It is still in very good condition as I
have kept it in a case & bring it out occasionally to play it. Are there any
Moody fans out there that would also like to share their stories? Would love to
hear from you.

I happened to check the Moodies official website and there are 9 tour
dates scheduled between March 27 and April 7. Six are in Calfornia, two
in Nevada and one in Prescott, AZ. Time for a road trip!

"I can only hope the group decides to make another album!!!"
Let's hope, Tom, let's hope! In fact, Strange Times is the last studio
true studio album of the Moodies and it's very good indeed. I'm not so
enthusiastic about Haunted but English Sunset is great and as are most
of the songs on Strange Times. It brings back something of the
atmosphere on the great Core 7 albums. Nothing Changes draws the
curtain of this album brilliantly. Let's hope for an encore!
Keep on rockin'!

I agree. Those were great songs. And, in my opinion, Strange Times
was a great album... hard to believe it's been ten years since it came
out, and almost 20 since Keys of the Kingdom was released. I think I
bought both of them on their release dates. I have not heard these
two albums cited as favorites by a lot of fans, but it never failed to
impress me how the Moodies sought to do new stuff with each album they
put out after the classic 7, and particularly after Octave.
I wish that whoever it is that makes those decisions would get over
their resentment and would finally induct The Moody Blues into the R&R
Hall of Fame...

I would like to read the article if I can find it.
I knew he dropped the low E down to D but I was having trouble figuring out the
other strings.

Joe, there was an interview with Justin in a magazine earlier this year in which
he discusses
some of his open tunings. I didn't buy it, but I jotted down the title Classic
Rock magazine;
however, it wasn't the British magazine of that name, and now I'm not sure what
it was. In
any case, the tuning he mentioned for New Horizons was DADFAC. I hope this
helps.
