Hey everyone, it's Shana... Hope you are all having a great year so
far! Lots of things to share...

LOCAL SCENE

The final part of a series is now online at Tastyfresh.com, with an
inside look on "How To Build A Local Scene", based on my experiences
in promoting underground Christian dance music events with
StreetBeatz. Here's a quick overview:

PART ONE
This one describes the basics behind networking and building audience.
http://www.tastyfresh.com/ezine/9-2005-sept-oct/localscene-part1.htm

PART TWO
A behind the scenes look at how I started out.
http://www.tastyfresh.com/ezine/10-2005-nov-dec/localscene-part2.html

PART THREE
Some straight forward advice on starting up your own project.
http://www.tastyfresh.com/ezine/11-2006-jan-feb/localscene-part3.html

Also online for reference are the original StreetBeatz Zine:
http://www.gsynth.com/sbz/SBZp1.html
the DM4C Network: http://www.dm4c.com
and my portfolio: http://www.gsynth.com/portfolio

The articles were written with the intent to put ideas and tools in
the hands of up and coming artists, DJs, promoters, and business and
ministry minded people, to build their own local scenes, and to
encourage a growing connected international scene.

It's exciting because, so many people shared these experiences with
me and with everyone else in this scene. I hope it brings back
memories... and for many who weren't there, I hope it will birth new
vision...

GSYNTH

My personal website, GSYNTH.com, is undergoing evolution... with some
pics of me in my studio, a new Gsynth mailinglist, and some coming
myspace websites (if you have a myspace page, be sure to click on
the "friends" links and say hi!). More will come in the future...

BREAKSPOLL AWARDS

A notable breakbeat track from 2005 that everyone MUST hear
is "Angels" by ILS
http://www.ilsmusic.com
http://www.distinctiverecords.com
If you can snag yourself a copy of the Angels Limited Edition CD, it
comes with remixes, otherwise it's on his artist album Bohemia
(released on CD, and vinyl if it's still available).

If you have a minute, you can vote for him in the Breakspoll.com
awards (before Feb 8).
Here's the info: http://www.breakspoll.com
artist: ILS, track: Angels, album: ILS Bohemia, label: Distinctive

It was also a great year for producers like Shiloh and Blake Potter
and other up and coming talent, with more exciting things in store
for the future... stay tuned! God bless!!

Shana
