Clearly, what needs to be done is the tour that anyone with a brain
has already thought about:
Styx / Damn Yankees / Night Ranger / Ted Nugent
This would be a night or classic rock riches.
None of these bands have anything preventing it, except for the wild
card antics of Nugent. Supposedly Damn Yankees were going to reform
in the last 5 years or so, but Nuge has been "busy". Doing what?
Hunting? Come on Nuge. Stop being a nut job. A tour of this
configuration would be quite the attention getter. Imagine the wealth
of singers joining together to sing songs from all 4 bands catalog!
Short of the above, the only other thing that would bring Styx some
greater stature, is for the fences to be mended, and Dennis DeYoung
rejoins the band for a tour.
Styx always kicks ass in concert - but they've overplayed their cards
by touring WAY too much. I know it's their main source of income, but
they haven't given their audience a chance to miss them.
If they're going to continue touring, they've got to change the
setlist to include some different songs - don't shortchange on "Man In
The Wilderness" - do the whole song!
