The current situation with Styx may actually benefit Dennis DeYoung.
His new album, 100 years from Now, will be released in the US quite
soon and the muscle it showed in the Canadian market may well motivate
Rounder to give it some push here in the States. I know a lot of hard-
core fans may already have it, but I'm betting a lot of casual Styx
fans don't. DDY's highly recognizable voice, the diversity of the
material (rocker, ballads, etc) and the obvious classic Styx elements
(high harmonies, melodicism meets loud guitars, etc.) may well give
Styx fans what the band currently isn't providing– new tunes in the
classic Styx style.
I am scratching my head over the lack of remastered/re-released product
from the classic Styx era, though. The fact that a lot of "classic
canon" stuff continues to sell over new product makes it an almost no-
brainer. Kansas, Heart, Journey, Jethro Tull, etc. all have new
editions of their classic albums on the market, many with bonus cuts
and good liner notes. Having new editions of their core catalog out
just makes good business sense.

For the record, Styx DOES NOT SUCK! I've seen them every year since '96, and it never gets old for me. Actually, I'm gonna see them again next month at a...
I agree with you, but I think we all do. The title of the thread is Styx 'stuck" -?as in they are stuck in a rut - not Styx "suck". LOL, that'a a different...

I sincerely doubt Dennis would stand in the way of remasters. It just isn't on the band's current agenda. Their job as they see it is to promote the present,...
