Hi,
I wonder how J. Y. had felt over the death of Edward Moore "Ted" Kennedy,
the ninth and final child (and the fourth and final son) of Joseph P. Kennedy
Sr. and Rose Fitzgerald, this past August?
Ted, as everyone should know or has known, was the inspiration for J. Y.'s
1979 Styx song "Eddie," written as a warning to drop his bid for the 1980
Presidential election campaign amid concerns he may risk suffering the same fate
as two of his older brothers, John F. "Jack" and Robert F. "Bobby" Kennedy in
1963 and 1968 respectively (both of which died from being assassinated);
addressed in the lyrics: "First in the '80s but last of the sons."
Did J. Y. ever perform the song live from 1979 to the present, with Styx
and/or his own band, the James Young Group?
~Ben
