Its nice to see Mr S being so fondly remembered even in more mainstream
publications. I've seen some very favourable reviews for the new Hardware DVD.
The Dust Devil review in the Radio Times that Mark mentions says:
This surreal serial-killer tale from Hardware director Richard Stanley is a
landmark British film of the 1990s. Combining African tribal myths with
spaghetti western folklore, this has an embarassment of cinematic riches. Robert
Burke is a forbidding presence as "The Hitcher from Hell", spinning a web of
dream-like terror around his suicidal victims. Once seen never forgotten.
It gives me hope that Vacation may be greeted as warmly as it undoubtedly will
deserve.
