If he was real, maybe the real story behind the Watchers is about him, leading several members of this sect away from the main group and forming another in Damascus...maybe near Mt. Hermon. Maybe Judas Iscariot was an infiltrator of the main group, as might have been Simon the Zealot. Because the men who wrote those books (who called themselves "the Yahad") later became the Zealots, who died at Masada. And Judas really did betray his former brother, but not exactly as we are told - not to the Romans, but to the Yahad. Were the Yahad pissed off enough at him to condemn him and his fellows as "the Fallen Angels" - mostly Shemyaza who corrupted the angels and Azazel who corrupted the whole earth with his teachings?   Clearly, they saw themselves as angels - sons of light - if you read the "War Scroll".
