Re: [sumerland] The Jesus Myth

Thanx for the response, Owen.

Yeah, "ammo" was a bad choice of words.

This person tries to convert me every time I see
them so I just wanted to be able to lob something
back for them to chew on. They think Jesus
is the one and only one and if you're not with that program,
you're going to burn.

You might want to check out The Christ Conspiracy by Acharya S... The most important point to consider, regarding this topic, is that these various mythical figures all portray some aspect of the solar archetype/illuminating-conscious principle. This is information that can easily lead one into ongoing esoteric research. I wouldn't recommend using it as "ammo" in a dispute with anyone, if all you seek to gain is the self-gratification of "being right". Consider the notion that Horus/Christ/Krishna/Mithra/etc. could be perceived as a "unity consciousness" that we all can access, if we are ready and willing to move outside of ego-identification. Ideally, this is not information that should be used to perpetuate ideological conflict. We already have enough of that, thanks to all our "fundamentalist friends" out there...

Owen

P.S.: If you liked Zeitgeist, than I recommend checking out the Ben Stewart films (The Esoteric Agenda and Kymatica) on Google... similar material, yet a little more developed.

Hi everybody. My names is garth...and I am a lurker.

Have any of you seen "Zeitgeist"? Towards the beginning of it, they talk about Jesus and his similarities to many other
gods/myths. Horus, for example, apparently was also born on Dec.25th, born of a virgin, adored by 3 kings, had 12 desciples, etc.
The movie goes on to list MANY other mythical figures that had the exact same details.
Does anyone (Dragon, Beth?) know more about this and where I can find more info./ammo regarding this? I've an annoying, hardcore Jesusfreak acquaintence whom I need to bother.

Zeitgeist location: http://video. google.com/ videoplay? docid=-594683847 743189197

Thanx for any leads!
g.
