Okay, this is dangerously close to spam, but I send it with the best
of intentions as I, just like you guys, am a big music fan.

Anyway, I asked you fellow list members for some advice and input on
how to model our new record store that we've recently opened (Acme
Records, in Rockford, IL). I appreciate those of you who joined in
and helped us get all set.

We're now open, and we're doing online business at www.acme-
records.com. We don't have a proper shopping cart yet, but our
inventory is posted online and you can email us to put together an
order and pay via Paypal or over the phone with a credit card.

We can also get anything in print, so if you don't see it, ask. We
often ship the same day, and offer pretty fair prices on some good
music. For you fellow list members doing your Christmas shopping
(for others or for yourself), I'm offering a 10% discount on all
orders placed between now and December 1. Email your orders and/or
questions to acme@....

Thanks for your time – with your support, we'll continue to grow and
thrive.

I havent checked back here in a while, looks like there hasnt been
much action.

I'll probably be going to Mergefest, since I moved from Columbia,SC to
Chapel Hill (in '02)and live about 10 minutes from the Cradle! I'm
extremely lazy and admire the guys dedication coming from the UK.
Looks like day 3 has already sold out - Spoon is headlining. Day 1
with the chunk and day 2 with Crooked fingers are still available. I
would love to see Crooked Fingers (I was a rabid Archers fan way back
"in the day") but I'm too cheap to cough up another 15 bucks, even if
Eric Bachmann is the poet of our times.

Later,

Alex

hey there -

i apologize for cluttering everyone's mailbox with one more piece of
junk, but hopefully some people will take a couple of minutes to help
me out.

a friend and i are opening a record store in northern IL, tentatively
in late 2004. seeing as how everyone here (except for the porn-bots)
is a music fan, people around here should have a lot of experience
with record stores.

to help with my preparations and planning, i've written up a little
survey about record stores & music buying. if anyone is willing to
take a couple of minutes to answer the survey, email me at
acmerecordsrkfd@... and i'll send the survey to you.

your help will come in very handy and will make my job a ton easier.

thanks!

yeah -
i'm waiting here in houston, too.
i eagerly search the superchunk home page hoping for a tour update
and a houston show. i was so sure that they'd be here in october -
as that is the usual plan. every other year it has not failed. they
are here, either in some dark and dreary venue or the ivy league
campus - in any case the fans show up! and - houston has plenty of
chunk fans.
so - where are they?

being patient :)

As I am stranded out here in Texas, I haven't been able to get to

Houston soon and play it---hint, hint.

Hey man, when is the Superchunk DVD going to be released? I read
somewhere that it is a compilation of all of S.C.'s music videos. It
was originally going to be out in the fall of '02.

If you want to see the "Watery Hands" or "Art Class" video (in a
crappy streaming format) here's the link:

http://www.rollingstone.com/videos/playvideo.asp?
sid=138508&stream=25&vidurl=http://idirector.media.ibeam.com/real/rol
lingstone/395/12247.rm

"Watery Hands" is great. It features David Cross and Janeane
Garofalo.
Funny stuff.

Out,

Seedtosser
