The Acceptance of Poverty as a Moral Issue in America Today

This Presidential Campaign proves, once again, that Americans, even well-meaning ones, see poverty as a moral issue. Nobody dares mention the “poor” (either candidate or the main-stream press). Nobody even whispers the word in any part of the world financial dilemma, or what Joe Biden termed “the most important election of our lives”. Heaven forbid you “Red.” The word “poor” is associated in this country with “freeloader, moral decadence, Communists and Welfare, etc.” The facts have never supported that perspective. Facts be damned.

See, it is all well and good that with our last credit card we are still trying to maintain that mythical “lifestyle we’ve become accustomed to;” but the cost and consequences on “The Street,” the other side of the tracks from “Main Street,” is easy to predict.

I guess in a world that is more-and-more resembling the film “Blade Runner,” the reality of an

Increasing violence and crime driven by desperation, and all the ensuing rising cost of containing an insurgent like reaction by those driven into desperate survival measures, would seem more satisfying for that group so loosely termed “the middle class” than cutting back on this year’s net entertainment-expenditure by, say, 5% to 7% .

The rich? Forget them. They have not only proved to be greedy beyond all imagination and truly morally reprehensible, but massively incompetent to boot! We only need to indict them. And then according to the laws that they themselves have set up for standard felons, take all the money they stole back from them. Not only in America, but around the world.

AND RESPONSES TO "GOD IS AN UNDERACHIEVER" by DJ MONKEY on YOUTUBE

OK CHRISTIANS - learn your history. THE BIBLE IS BASED ON THE RELIGIONS OF EGYPT!!! The Egyption religions had their foundations in SUN worship. GOD is energy. The energy that connects all living things. You impact God with how you use your energy. Do you really want to use it negatively attacking others who have a different view than you? Follow Jesus' example and reach out to others in love and let GOD be the judge.

Hi everyone, it's like Osho says: "God is not a solution but a problem". God is the most abused concept in this world and that's where the song seems to be about. Let's not have discussions anymore but let's feel "God" as LOVE. After all that's the only way we can leave all the misery behind us. AMEN
PS LOVE for Joey and all of you, Saskia from Holland

Very beautiful song and intense video.
Since I believe that we all are and live in something that I call 'ALL' - you call that 'God'- I agree with you...'God' is an underachiever.
Because we all are 'God' and we all could and should make a chance.
I never go to church...but I do believe in the creating and loving energy that flows through us all and that connects everyone and everything.
Taking good care of each other is taking good care of yourself.

Wonderful song and visuals. I am an atheist and consider my self very spiritual. Spirituality has nothing to do with religion or God. Monique just represents the sad angry narrow minded attitude of religious folks and the reason so many people are killed maimed and tortured in the name of God. I would rather take my chances with loving and helping people myself without asking their religious preference
If God really existed he/she is not doing a good job.
Love is the best solution

Monique, I'm not an atheist, but lately I've been seriously questioning God RE: why He/She doesn't step up more during this massive crisis, & soften the hearts of the evil & greedy ppl in the world. So I totally relate to this video's message. I know it's also up to us to do our part to help, but I think this video is evidence of a very spiritual person who cares deeply about the situation of injustice in this world. Awesome job, Joey! This is a great way to wake ppl up! Rock on, brother!
