I am producing a great family feature film and am seeking an experienced Music
Supervisor for our film.  I am a first time producer and know how important
music is to the overall theme of the movie.  I have a few songs picked out for
some scenes and am working on others, however, I need an experienced person to
consult or take over the Music Supervisor position.  This will be either a
credit/meal position or deferred pay, depending on experience.

Tips and tricks to get work with professional film and television
productions.

Film and TV productions need many different people, services, and
stuff, such as actors, music, costumes, make-up, graphic designers,
props, sets, scenery, lights, sound, cameras, editors, animators,
production assistants, art directors, special effects, stunt actors,
extras, dancers, voice over, TV hosts, publicists, lawyers, licensing,
office assistants, directors, producers, script writers, proposal
writers, sponsors, drivers, trailers, catering, medics, studio hire,
car hire, security, fencing, body guards, celebrity assistants, talent
liaisons, interns, and the list goes on. By the time it hits the small
screen a TV show will have hired as many as 500 or more people. Movies
can hire as much as 2,000 or 3,000 people each before they hit the big
screen or video circuit. That's a lot of jobs per production.

Waiting for these individual jobs to be posted on your local web board
or mailing list is a lot of waiting while also surfing related boards
and mailing lists. Plus for each job you find on a board or mailing
lists you are competing with hundreds of other folks who probably saw
the job and sent their info before you did. To stay ahead of the
competition you have to have the most professional looking resume or
brochure and get your info to the production company before they post
out their calls to web boards and mailing lists.

Think about it� for example: If you are band or songwriter, what's the
other best place to get your music heard, apart from radio or stage?
It's film and television, and all you have to do is send them your
songs before the film or TV project has finished post-production. But
don't forget about your presentation.

Decision makers appreciate good presentation, such as well-written
succinct resume and info, professional photos, and clean and tidy
presentation packs. Remember to put your skill set keywords at the top
of your resume, so they can choose you faster.  They also need to know
that you are the right person or personality for the job, so a cover
letter specifically written for their job or production is especially
important. Make sure everything is up to date and all contact phones,
web sites, and emails are working before you send out your info.

If they don't choose you for this production, don't sweat it; you are
on file for their next project, or next. Send them your stuff once a
year to keep everything updated for their database as well as your own
records. That is how the A List actors, crew, writers, musicians, and
services do it; they skip the middleman and go straight to the
production company. If you have original material such as scripts or
songs make sure they are copyrighted before sending them anywhere.

The trick is finding the contact info for film and TV projects while
they are still in the stages of Development, Preparation, Pre
Production, Shooting, and Post Production. By sending your stuff to
them before they post out calls you are automatically ahead of the
competition because they already got you on file. If you are what they
are looking for they'll contact you and not bother posting notices to
job and audition boards. Booya, no competition!

It's that simple and it is that easy, but you have to have a source
for the film and TV project info and you have to know how to read a
contract. And that dear reader is where Gigslist.org comes in.

my writing partner and I have an administration deal
with Bug Music and I've recently noticed that they
have us listed under "clients" on their website
(www.bugmusic.com) as our old band's name TONGUE DANCE
and then Justine Kaye & Ron King and then an incorrect
link to an email that is not us either.

I hope this gives some information so you can see that
we do indeed compose, perform, live and breath music.
