It has taken me a while to finally post this to this mailing list.
The original posting was made May 14, 2002 and someone there forwarded
it to me. I don't want to post the original message exactly because I
feel that I need Janis' permission to do that and I haven't received
that permision so I put it in my own words.

Janis has a temporary website up at http://janisonline.com. There
wasn't much there yet when I first checked on it. There more be more
now. Her solo project is coming along well. She has been working
hard writing new songs and she was planning to head back to the
recording studio the following week to record three more songs.

She had a sking accident in Taos, NM in January tearing the ACL in her
knee. Surgery in March and physical therapy three days a week have
improved her condition greatly and she hoped to be riding horses again
soon.

She asks us not to give up on the Sweethearts. She knows that we have
been loyal and that means a lot to both Janis and Kristine. She
promises that the new CD will be made and asks us to hang in there for
it.
