5) Three Rivers Community Band Festival accepts applications to
perform - For Bands and from individual musicians for the Festival Band
The sixth annual Three Rivers Band Festival will be held on Saturday,
May 2, 2009, at Upper St. Clair High School. Four area community
bands will perform, as well as a Festival Band comprised of community
players from greater western Pennsylvania.
We invite area community bands to submit an application to participate
in the festival. Details and an application form can be found on the
festival website: http://www.ewsb.org/festival. The deadline for
band applications is November 10, 2008.
We also invite community players to apply for the Festival Band.
(They are welcome to participate whether their band performs or not.
Applications will be accepted until February 15, 2009.) We are
delighted to have Elisabeth Heath-Charles, Musical Director and
Conductor of the Butler County Symphony Orchestra, as this year's
Festival Band guest conductor. Participation in the Festival Band
does not require an audition. We would like to include players from
all over the region, and applicants will only be turned away when
sections are full. The Festival Band member application and other
details can be found at
http://www.ewsb.org/festival/2009/FestivalBandInformation.html.
If you have questions or would like to be mailed copies of the
applications, please email festival@... or leave a message at
412-741-4698.
Please distribute this information to the members of your group.
There are modest fees for participating in the festival, but admission
to listeners is free. We look forward to having you join us next May.
Sincerely,
Susan Craft
