Hi.
I need a few tenors and basses for one of my choirs. There are
plenty of Sop's and alto's at the moment.
'I Sing On The Cake' is celebrating it's 10th anniversary this
year. This is a very strong acappella choir which rehearses on
Thursday nights in Kensington under my direction.
The choir's web page (a bit old) is http://www.stuartdavis.biz/
choirs/i_sing_on_the_cake.htm
The repertoire is mainly pop songs 'mashed' for acappella purposes,
plus an assortment of Gospel/African/other stuff, for example :
Sisters are Doing it For Themselves (Annie Lennox/Aretha)
Love The One You're With (Stephen Stills)
Come Sunday (Duke Ellington)
Goin Out of my Head (60's classic)
Chain of Fools (Aretha)
Freedom Suite Pt 1 (Young Disciples)
Aquarius (HAIR)
Make Your Own Kind Of Music (Mamas & Papas)
Here and Now (Deborah Conway)
Something (Beatles)
That's Amore (Dean Martin)
Always Something There To Remind Me (Dusty)
We have several gigs every year, and will be singing at The Edge in
Federation Square, Melbourne in June (3rd year in a row).
New members will have to work hard to learn existing repertoire, but
I will do everything I can to help, including making CDs of your parts.
It's a fun group, very social (always at the pub after, and in some
cases before rehearsal)
Please email or give me a call if you're interested.
