Hi there,
Technically these happened at the National Folk
Festival in Canberra - but for anyone who wasn't
there [and even if you were!] I'm writing to let
you know that Ecopella will be celebrating our
first decade by launching the new CD as follows:
Ecopella
Songs In The Key Of Green
Saturday April 5th 2008
Café Church Space
37 St Johns Road, Glebe
7:30pm
$15/$10
Also appearing
The Solidarity Choir
and
Dennis Aubrey & The FB Utes
With sofas, cushions and refreshments the venue
is a very comfortable place to hear some
outstanding examples of Save-The-World Music. The
album's tour de force is an elegant and intricate
plea for marine conservation called Wings Of A
Seabird by Emery Schubert and Nicholas Carlile.
Other highlights include original songs by Paul
Spencer and by Miguel Heatwole covering topics as
diverse as anti-logging protests, greenhouse
pollution, urban development and the stresses of activism.
Solidarity, our big sister choir, will be giving
us some of their own blend of solemn and
satirical freedom songs, while the newly
invigorated FB Utes will feature the songwriting
talents of Dennis Aubrey, Russell Neal, Hugh Roberts and Miguel Heatwole.
We hope you can make it to this gig, it will be a
ripper! Please spread the word if you can!
Miguel Heatwole
