Tenors and Basses - Come out, come out where ever you are...   Message List

Hi,

My name is Ronelle and I'm desperate for men.
Not just any men, and not a husband (I've got one of those and he sings
bass with us).
I'm searching 'high and low' for solid tenors and basses to complete our
men's section.

I'm the new choir director of the Gospel group currently known as The
Elementals. (For those who have seen us, I'm the kooky alto with purple
glasses). Recently, Ian Laurence, the choir's former musical director
stopped leading the group and we have continued on, revitalised with new
voices and a slightly broader repetoire of musical styles. We have lots
of fun while producing a cappella of a very high standard.

The Elementals have recorded numerous CDs over it's successful run
spanning decades, with television appearances and regular gigs at the
Basement and choral festivals. We perform at weddings and concerts often
with other choirs such as The Honeybees as we did at The Independent
Theatre last year. We are based in Petersham, (Sydney's inner west)
rehearse on Thursday nights and are a not-for-profit association charging
no fees to members. We are taking the group in some new directions with
the possibility of a future name change. Our music is spiritual but the
members are a mixed bunch. Those with a stronger religious faith are
matched by the other section who enjoy a drink and a chat at the pub
after rehearsal.

We'd cherish a few confident animated guys who love to sing. Sight
singing is always a plus but not necessary. We would most welcome any
strong females especially solists who want to come along as well.

If this sounds like you or someone you know, please contact me. Also, if
any choir directors are intersted in discussing the idea of upcoming
concerts or special events that our choirs could co-promote and sing on
the same bill, I'd love to hear from you.

Thanks!

Ronelle Knowles
