DIDO & AENEAS - AUDITIONS

Hello all,

The Cleftomaniacs, a choir of about 20 are currently in production of
this popular, short 3 act opera. We will give two performances of the
work at the South Sydney Uniting Church in Raglan St Waterloo on Friday
19th and Saturday 20th November.

Other important dates will include production rehearsals on
4 Sunday afternoons (Oct 24th, 31st & Nov 7th and 14th).
as well as a dress rehearsal on the evening of Thursday 18th November.

We have a small orchestra for accompaniment.

Solo roles include: and of 39 numbers sing in:

Dido (Queen of Carthage) - Soprano 3, 4, 6, 8, 35, 37, 38
Belinda, her sister - Soprano 2, 4, 6, 7, 8, 11, 24,
35
Second woman - Soprano 4, 6, 7
Sorceress - Mezzo Soprano 14, 16, 18, 31, 32
First Witch - Soprano 14, 18, 20, 31
Second Witch - Soprano 18, 20, 31
Spirit - Mezzo Soprano 28
Aeneas - (A Trojan Prince) - Tenor 10, 26, 28, 35
Sailor - Tenor 29

While we hope to do justice to Henry Purcell's music,
the focus of this production is definitely on having fun.

Auditions will happen by arrangement with myself and will be at my place

(Ashbury near Ashfield).

I am generally available between 4pm - 6pm most evenings and during the
day on weekends.

Audition material is up to you and I may be able to help with piano
accompaniment if it's not too difficult. Otherwise you could just
sing unaccompanied or use a tape or CD.
