Want to experience something different? Do you have an hour or two free on a
Sunday afternoon? Hear a choral feast of new compositions by Australian
composers, sung by over 100 adults and children from the local community. These
pieces will be interspersed by choirs with a wide variety of styles such as
Choralation, Leichhardt Espresso Chorus, Note Tonight Josephine and students
from Five Dock, Abbotsford and Kegworth Public Schools.
If you think that choirs just stand on a stage and sing, you haven't experienced
the vision of Artistic Director Michelle Leonard before. Experience the surround
sound of a swamp, a noisy city and even a paper concerto! There will also be
traditional folk, modern and world songs - enough variety to please everybody.
This event will showcase original works specially commissioned for Moorambilla.
Composers featured include Joe Accaria, Marco Creazzo, Dan Walker, Stephen Leek,
Matthew Doyle and Paul Jarman. The finale will feature a composition by Joe
Accaria, combining voice with industrial percussion, piano and a dissonant
jumble of sights and sounds in celebration of the International Year of the
Built Environment.
There may be a surprise guest appearance too!
The concert is in the Henry Lawson Community Hall, 350 Great North Road
Abbotsford (in the grounds of Abbotsford PS). There is plenty of parking and the
438 bus from the city goes right past.
Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 concession and $50 family. Tickets are available
at the door but to avoid missing out, order from Margaret on 0414 773 714 or
