Hi all
Don't forget Bel a cappella's concert tomorrow (Sunday 22 Nov) at 3 pm at St
Scholastica's chapel in Glebe.
It celebrates the best of English choral music and features Vaughan
William's Mass for double choir and four wonderful young soloists, as well
as pieces by Parry, Bainton and others. It will be a lush and beautiful
program.
See you there!
Cheers
Marg

THE FIFTH HOUSE @ THE SOUND LOUNGE
8PM TUESDAY 24TH NOVEMBER
Hi everyone,
we'd like to let you know that The Fifth House will be performing next
Tuesday evening at The Sound Lounge at The Seymour Theatre Centre at
8pm.
This is a show with 2 sets. We'll be presenting some great jazz and pop
tunes and some originals as well as a few other things besides. We
haven't
been onstage at the Sound Lounge since September last year at The Sydney
Acappella Festival 2008 and we're really looking forward to our return
to
this great little cabaret room. Please come along. The Seymour Centre is
located on the corner of City Rd and Cleveland St, Chippendale and
there's
plenty of free parking on the street as well as a parking station
attached
to the Seymour Centre. Refreshments and some food will be available from
the bar in the room.
So we hope to see you there.

Handel & Haydn, a celebration
Coro Innominata with Concertato
Rachel Cunningham, soprano • Elizabeth Scott, soprano
Victoria Wallace, mezzo soprano • Simon Gilkes, tenor • Morgan Pearse, bass
3pm, Sunday 6 December 2009
Saint Scholastica's Chapel
Cnr Avenue Road and Arcadia Road, Glebe
The 250th anniversary of Handel’s death and the 200th anniversary of
Haydn’s death occur in 2009 and we mark these with a major work from
each composer. Handel’s exuberant Dixit Dominus is a technically
impressive work from a young German composer keen to make his mark in
Rome, then the musical centre of Europe. No less impressive is Haydn’s
dramatic Missa in Angustiis – or the Nelson Mass. Regarded by some as
“Haydn’s greatest single composition” it contains glorious choruses
interwoven with sparkling solo movements in a work of joyous
celebration.
