Hey,

My idea for the sync output would somekind of emulation of the
keyboard controllers. The atari scans the ports so if a box could
output the same kind of signal as a pressed keypad does then you
could control it remotely. If you you a chip emulating the circuit
controlls I assume it would be possible to take it a step further and
make it midi controlable. It would work kinda like this ...
