trouble getting my atari to work   Message List

hey everybody i just got my atari 2600 w/ synthcart off ebay and im
tryin to get it work but im having some problems. i plugged the power
supply in, hooked up the rf adapter to the atari then to my tv, put
the cartridge in, the controllers, then i set the rf switch to game
and my tv cut out and went to a blue screen which im assuming is
right, then i flip the power switch and nothing happens...i tried all
different channels namely 3, 4 nothing...how can i tell if my atari
even turned on? i also noticed a channel a b switch on the bottom i
flip it and checked around the channels on my tv still nuthin..is
there somethin im doing wrong? i hope its not the atari...man i really
wanted to play with this tonight

i emailed the guy who sold it to me saying something similar to this

any help would be greatly appreciated...thanks

ahhh nevermind everyone i think i got it figured out...the polarity was wrong on the power supply....well if anything else goes wrong ill be back...
