Curious coincidence: I live in Albany and perform annually on the
pipe and tabor (among other instruments with my morris dancers) at
the Pinksterfest (mentioned in the 1803 source linked above), but
right now I am on vacation in Barcelona.
I have no idea if there are earlier North American references.
