There's an unfeasibly big tabor in one of Heironymous Bosch's pictures, being
held by a damned soul, containing another damned soul, and beaten by a demon. He
is beating the snare side with one stick. You have to look fairly carefully for
the pipe, but it is not being played by the demon. Not to put too fine a point
on it, the damned soul holding the tabor has no clothes on, so I'll leave you to
guess where the pipe is!
Can't remember the name of the picture off hand. It's one part fo a tryptych.
Had to take it off the Taborers Website because it used too much bandwidth (it
was the most looked at file by a healthy margin).
