understands of course the German language ;-)

play the file):

The download concering the flac files is possible (today 20090719) after
14:00 GMT (16:00 CET, 15:00 UK time).
Flac files are 1st uploaded, 2nd the zipfile containing the flac files.

Have fun with listening.

Just one news fact about the Berlin bats concert :
Start concert : 19:30, end 22:00 according to EF.
That leaves a lot of space for an after-concert fanmeet with TD

grtz, Peter

PS. The files for download on my website will be removed per 20090801

From the TD official forum:

Hi Guys,

The Vinyl Release (Autumn In Hiroshima/Views from a Red Train/Summer In
Nagasaki) date will be around the 7th August!
Just watch out for news on our website!

PS: "Winter In Hiroshima" CD and the "London - Los Angeles 2DVD set"
will be released around that time, too.

I posted this (in somewhat lengthier form) on TD's web site, but since we are
talking about Genesis here I though I'd post here too:

I've been a bit nostalgic regarding Genesis lately (I was a big fan in the early
70's) and was watching some videos on YouTube and poking around various Genesis
fan pages. I suppose many Genesis fans know this information already. But I
don't see it in this thread, so I thought I would post it.

I got the following quotes from "The Genesis Discography January 1998 Edition
Copyright © 1998 Scott McMahan, All Rights Reserved"
(http://cyberreviews.skwc.com/gendis.pdf) which apparently got the quotes from "
Hugh Fielder's The Book Of Genesis."

PETER: Around the time we started work on The Lamb I had this call from
Hollywood by William Friedkin who'd seen the story I'd written on the back of
the live album and he thought it indicated a weird, visual mind. He was trying
to put together a sci-fi film and he wanted to get a writer who'd never been
involved with Hollywood before. We were working at Headley Grange which I felt
was partly haunted by Jimmy Page's black magic
experiments, and was full of rock and roll legend. I would go bicycle to the
phone box down the hill and dial Friedkin in California with pockets stuffed
full of 10p pieces.

PETER: Another thing that rubbed the band up the wrong way was that Tangerine
Dream were going to do the film score for Friedkin. The others thought I was
using the gorup as a springboard to jump off for my own personal success and
wasn't even bringing them along with me. But Friedkin didn't want Genesis. He
only wanted me for weird ideas, not
for music. I just wanted a month to do this script outline. So I walked out.
There was a big eruption with Charisma and I think Strat had to come out of his
watering hole to help resolve it.

I do find it very strange that Seconds Out and Genesis Live have 5.1 mixes but
the newer ones do not

It almost seems like a "can't be arsed" situation. All the other box set
releases had SACD/DVD 5.1 mixes

So actually you are right, this isn't so OT after all. ;)

OT ? The 1st track on the 1st TD album was called Genesis, so not as OT people
may think ;-)

Anyway, following your email, I looked over at the official Genesis web site to
find more info.
Bit disappointing that not all the albums have 5.1 mixes and there's no DVD
footage

Also the statement
"Genesis Live 1973 - 2007 has been designed to incorporate space for the most
recent live Genesis release; the 2-CD set Live Over Europe 2007" -

This I guess means that I need to buy the 2-cd set (I don't own it at the
moment, just the DVD) to put inside the new box ?

Anyway, starting to save up right now! My birthday is early September so I'll
be hinting to the family that cash would be nice ;-)

Thanks for the info on this, I would perhaps have been tempted as I did like

Until you sent this, I had no idea they were doing the live box.
Great news - look forward to seeing what extras they put on the DVD part
(assuming they do the same as the studio box sets)

   Hi Jorg

CD Services online store is generally rubbish, especially with new releases.
The way to order is simply drop them an email.

With regard to the "missing" tracks, CD Services sometimes make mistakes in
their emails so no-one should be too worried.
In fact for Autumn in Hiroshima although there are only 11 track numbers,
Track 1 is listed as Trauma, Reset.
Track 9 is listed as Touching Truth, Insight.

P.S. and also O.T. - If anyone was thinking of ordering the Genesis Live In
Poland 1998 DVD, please be aware that
it is NOT anywhere near as good as CDS said in their mail-shot. I ordered a
copy because I'm a fan of Ray Wilson and
thought he did a pretty good job. I'd seen Youtube clips of the whole of this
concert, and what you get on the DVD is basically an
improved version of the Youtube clips. There were obviously 2 broadcasts
because on some of the Youtube clips there is
a TV station name at the top right hand side of the screen. On the DVD this TV
station name also appears.

Sound quality varies but is pretty good overall.

I don't expect there are many Ray-era Genesis fans around here anyways. ;-)

The missing tracks is an error, according to Eastgate. All tracks will be
included on the releases, they say. :-)

The missing tracks is an error, according to Eastgate. All tracks will be
included on the releases, they say. :-)

I mentioned this a while back, there is a niche market for vinyl.
I know it does not make sense, perhaps the problem is the weight or the
sound that
resulted from the use of 180 gram.

niche as in about 157 will buy these right off and play them
collection types will buy
other than that??

If we take our music and put on this media, at 180 gram or greater, some
adjustments to the mix will have to happen.
So it's not going to sound like on the CD anyway.
To my ears there is a difference anyway to many of the TD works (and EM
with dynamics) between CD and Vinyl.
I prefer the Thief on vinyl more than on CD.

Another smart move on Edgar's part. He is very much focused on marketing TD
these days.

However, the 180 Gram and more at Amoeba Records often is only a few dollars
and often, used too. Even the new vinyl does not command a high price. This
I do not know how this fits into the overall master plan. I think those who
are very much into vinyl will enjoy the works, the collectors will pay ...
it's only 1000 so maybe the market will be controlled for a bit?

Perhaps, but it doesn't make sense that they've seemingly removed tracks
from the Nagasaki albums which are both under an hour in length, and yet
nothing has been removed from View From a Red Train, which clocks in at over
70 minutes, and all three albums are listed as 2 LP sets.

The missing tracks were probably taken out because of the LP's time limitation.

I'm hoping that typo doesn't make it onto the cover....

The missing tracks were probably taken out because of the LP's time limitation.

I'm ok thanks, Dale. Looking forward to A/Hall gig

Yes, I know about MIDI - musical instrument digital implicator -
I had around six to 8 sinths all linked up through midi. The problem was timing.
Midi is very useful, but triggers were slightly delayed. It's only a matter of
milliseconds, but you do notice it, especially with sequencial orientated music.
