Greetings to all of you fellow Taiko players and fans.
It would be good if more Taiko players would attend drum circles
to share the rhythms and give that inimitable support that the
taiko can. As we all know. the "Ki" is the foundation of taiko drumming
and drum circles need that to bring to life the rhythms within everyone.
"With no heartbeat there is no life."
Please share this information on an upcoming event for
Taiko representation. Domo arigato.

There will be an outdoor DRUM CIRCLE in
Ft. Collins, Colorado, at beautiful City Park,
at the base of the gorgeous Rocky Mnts. on the Front Range.
Sunday August 27, 2000 from 12:00 - 2:00 PM (or whenever).
Ft. Collins is north of Denver just off I-25.
The afternoon will be facilitated by Kenne Thomas,
leading rhythms and whimsical drum chants.
We will be on a soccer sized grass field near City Park Lake.
The area is at the corner of W. Oak St. at Jackson Ave.
It's 5 mins. west of downtown Ft. Collins.
Picnicing, Restroom facilities, refreshment stands,
and fountains are nearby in the park.
You can take the historic Trolley Car from Old Towne district
to get there or drive. The parking lot is next to the field.
Everyone is welcome. There will be something for all to do.
Bring your Jembe, Ashiko, Bodhran, Didgeridoo, Taos drum,
Shaker, even a Coffee can, to make rhythms under the sun.
Members of the drum group, "Batucada", and
"Mkono Drummers" will be there as well as dancers
from the "Zwadi" dance troupe.
Many of you may know this is a worldwide drum circle day.
I hope we have a good turnout and a good report to share.
