Hi Ken,
I believe you're talking about the Japanese American Service
Committee, dedicated to preserving and promoting Japanese culture.
That may have been a while ago since someone formed their own taiko
group and now resides at the JASC. So that's like their territory
now.
The only recording we have out right now would be with The Concord
Chamber Orchestra. It's a really good one as it's a mix of Kokyo
doing there own songs and mixed with the orchestra's pieces and
finally ending with Kokyo performing alongside The Concord Chamber
Orchestra in their final piece, Bachanal from Samson & Delilah by
Camille Saint-Saens.
We did have a beta version for a CD-Rom circulating amongst the
group, but that project has since been put on hold as nobody really
has the time to do it anymore.
Until then, mele kalikimaka! (Hawaiian for Merry Christmas...sorry, I
speak more Hawaiian than Japanese!)
We'll see what happens though!
