Having problems with message search?
i attended that day and night of the Pop Festival.
i lived in FW and it took us the better part of two hours to get there- mostly due to traffic i believe we got there around one o'clock. sweltering heat that continued past sundown. ppl where well on there way to being stoned and or drunk.
bands that were playing from one o'clock to the time Zep played, met with the crowds' indifference. most of us sat and listened-some would dance and prob the majority stood in line at the port o potty.
i feel sorry for the group that preceded Zep, the crowd had burned out and passed out.
Led Zeppelin took the stage and the crowd took on a life- we all stood up and cheered so loud. i remember robert plant had blonde hair to "here" and hip huggers down to "there". his voice and the bands guitar riffs and the drums energized a "rag tag" bunch at the second greatest festival in a most unexpected area (lewisville, tx).- back in the day it was just one big field.
