Today's Story
From Joe Sondrup

FORREST GUMP GOES TO HEAVEN

The day finally arrived.

Forrest Gump dies and goes to Heaven.

He is at the Pearly Gates, met by St. Peter himself. However, the gates are
closed, and

Forrest approaches the gatekeeper.


St. Peter said,

'Well, Forrest, it is certainly good to see you.

We have heard a lot about you.

I must tell you, though, that the place is filling up fast, and we have been
administering an entrance examination

for everyone.

The test is short, but you have to pass it

before you can get into Heaven..'


Forrest responds,

'It sure is good to be here, St. Peter, sir.

But, nobody ever told me about any entrance exam.

I sure hope that the test ain't too hard.

Life was a big enough test as it was.'


St. Peter continued,

'Yes, I know, Forrest, but the test is only three questions.




First:

What two days of the week begin with the letter T?

Second:

How many seconds are there in a year?

Third:

What is God's first name?'










Forrest leaves to think the questions over.

He returns the next day and

sees St. Peter,

who waves him up, and says,

'Now that you have had a chance to think

the questions over, tell me your answers'


Forrest replied,

'Well, the first one --

which two days in the week begins with the letter 'T'?

Shucks, that one is easy.

That would be Today and Tomorrow.'


The Saint's eyes opened wide and

he exclaimed,

'Forrest, that is not what I was thinking, but

you do have a point, and

I guess I did not specify, so

I will give you credit for that answer.'

'How about the next one?' asked St. Peter


'How many seconds in a year?

Now that one is harder,' replied Forrest, but

I thunk and thunk about that, and

I guess the only answer can be twelve.'


Astounded, St. Peter said,

'Twelve? Twelve?

Forrest, how in Heaven's name could you come up with twelve seconds in a year?'


Forrest replied,

'Shucks, there's got to be twelve:

January 2nd, February 2nd, March 2nd ... '


'Hold it,' interrupts St. Peter.

'I see where you are going with this, and

I see your point,

though that was not quite what I had in mind ... but

I will have to give you credit for that one, too.

Let us go on with the third and final question.

Can you tell me God's first name'?


'Sure,' Forrest replied,

'it's Andy.'


'Andy?'

exclaimed an exasperated and frustrated St Peter.

'Ok, I can understand how you

came up with your answers to my first two questions, but just how in the world
did you come up with the name

Andy as the first name of God?'


'Shucks, that was the easiest one of all,'

Forrest replied.

'I learnt it from the song,

'ANDY WALKS WITH ME,

ANDY TALKS WITH ME,

ANDY TELLS ME I AM HIS OWN..' '


St. Peter opened the Pearly Gates, and said:

'Run Forrest, run!'

Dancing With God



When I meditate on the word Guidance,

I keep seeing "dance" at the end of the word.



I remember reading that doing God's will is a lot like dancing.



When two people try to lead, nothing feels right.

The movement doesn't flow with the music,

and everything is quite uncomfortable and jerky.



When one person realizes that, and lets the other lead,

both bodies begin to flow with the music.



One gives gentle cues, perhaps with a nudge to the back

or by pressing Lightly in one direction or another.

It's as if two become one body, moving beautifully.

The dance takes surrender, willingness,

and attentiveness from one person

and gentle guidance and skill from the other.



My eyes drew back to the word Guidance.



When I saw "G": I thought of God, followed by "u" and "i".

"God, "u" and "i" dance."



God, you, and I dance.



As I lowered my head, I became willing to trust

that I would get guidance about my life.

Once again, I became willing to let God lead.



My prayer for you today is that God's blessings

and mercies are upon you on this day and everyday.

May you abide in God, as God abides in you.

Dance together with God, trusting God to lead

and to guide you through each season of your life.



This prayer is powerful and there is nothing attached...



If God has done anything for you in your life,

please share this message with someone else.

There is no cost but a lot of rewards;

so let's continue to pray for one another.

Prayer Request

I want to ask everyone to please lift our grandaughter up in prayer she is under
going brain surgery in the morning Neely is only 9 years old.
What she has is a congenital deformity to the opening at the base of her skull.
That hole is too small and the cavity that the base of the brain sits in is
miss-shapen that causes a part of her brain called the cerebellar tonsils to
protrude down into her spinal column. They do not typically worry if the
protrusion is less than 6mm, she is showing 13mm of protrusion. This condition
is causing her to have headaches and neck pain as well as numbness to her hands.
She has had this condition since birth. It will not be fatal it rarely ever is.
She has a top notch surgeon and will be at Egleston Children's Hospital in Ga. .
They will be making a two inch incision up in her hairline along her spine, they
will pull her neck muscles to the side to expose her spine, they will then
remove the back portion of the foramen magnum(big hole in the base of the skull)
and the back side of her C1 vertebrae, he will then remove any scar tissue and
open the lining of the brain and do a graft giving her brain more room to
circulate the fluid that bathes it. He will then inject her neck muscles with
numbing medicine to cut down on her post op pain. She will be given antibiotics
before during and after the surgery to help prevent infection which is the
primary concern with this surgery. She is in God's hands and so are the
doctors.She is talking about going into medicine to help children like her so
see God works things out so well. And heaven forbid it not go the way we want it
to she was saved and baptized 3 years ago. Please forward this one to anyone who
will help us pray for her and her dear family who needs to stay strong during
this
