Greetings, Chrome Addicts --

With very few mixed emotions, I announce that, effective immediately,
THE CHROMATICS & THE McCLANAHANS will ~NEVER~ be playing at The Abbey
Pub -- 2002 Fry Rd in Katy, TX -- ever again.


Without going into a long diatribe that'll bore everyone to tears,
both bands were slated to play there Friday & Saturday, respectively.
Not so, I unexpectedly discovered a couple of hours ago.


Had I not called the owner today about some unrelated business, I
never would've found out about this debacle ahead of time, and people
would've shown up and gotten pissed off due to the club owner's
booking error, not the least of whom would've been my bandmates.


The Abbey has been going into the toilet ever since the former owner
sold it to the current owners. While under close watch of the
previous owner, there were ~never~ the problems that there are now.
There have been issues about the quality - or lack thereof, rather -
of the service, the class - again, or lack thereof - of the general
clientele.., the deterioration of the club overall, and last but not
least, the issue of safety to the patrons.


While it always sucks to lose a venue, we're not gonna be crying
about this one, and I'm fairly certain no one reading this will be
crying about us not inadvertently putting their safety in jeopardy by
merely inviting them to come see us play. At the very least, you
won't have to deal with the crappy service there any longer.


Again, sorry about the short notice, but there are better venues for
The Chromes and The Macs to play; all of my bandmates deserve to play
them, and all of you deserve to see us play them.
