Hello oh fine, wonderful people of the email mailing list variety!

Well, I just can't contain it anymore......IT'S OFFICIAL!!!!!The Velvet Janes
have been asked to appear as the opening act for the one and only...

Her tour starts in Auckland on the 19th January
and we will be opening for her there, in Adelaide on the 21st January and in
Perth on the 23rd January and possibly in Sydney on the 28th (tbc).
We came home Saturday night to an email from Ani's tour manager..looking for
us!! I had faxed them about a year ago asking about opening for her and despite
having changed phone numbers and email address, they came a lookin for us and
they found us. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT??!! Rose and I keep looking at each other and
screaming 'WE'RE GOING ON TOUR WITH ANI DIFRANCO' !!!! It is a huge dream come
true! We have also asked them about the possibility of opening for her in the
States next year and have been told there is a Spring tour that they will keep
us in mind for! Wow! All we wait for now is the absolute final call on the shows
that we are doing, as we are sharing the tour with another artist. Hopefully in
the next day or two we will know.

So, thank you to those of you who believed in us enough to utter positive words
of encouragement. Wow..just can't believe it!

Thank you also to those of you that came to our last show at Mojo's - it was
great to see so many old and new faces alike! We have a bootleg of the show (and
'no' before you ask!!!!) that has inspired us wholeheartedly to do a live album
next year, complete with a companion video!! We even have the name and the venue
picked out...

Oh yes, oh yes...for those of you who have foxtel.
On Dec 27th at 8.30pm est..the Rally Australia/V Channel show will be aired
nationally..and we are on it!! There is also a comp running on that night to
find the best unsigned band and you have to ring 1900 922 244 and vote for us by
punching in No 25. (you'll need a Foxtel subscriber no. to do it though) or else

to vote also. The winning band will receive a $50,000 video clip courtesy of V
Channel and the one entry chosen will win a place in the clip!! So get those
entries in!!

So..again...here in 'jelly-brain-can-you-believe-this-has-happened' land, Rose,
Zac, Dave & Jess (our cats) and I, would like to wish you the most beautiful,
safest Christmas this year..and the most outrageous new year that you can
possibly afford! With hopes for yummy people to surround you and heap love on
you.
