Hello there oh email friends of ours! This email comes to you from on
top of Telegraph Hill in San Francisco. I'm certain someone told me it
was going to be summer over here, and hence the reason why our
suitcases are filled with summery kinds of clothes. But, I look out
across the top of this fine city and all I see are dark dark clouds and
blankets of fog. Hmmmm. Not sure that tan thing is really going to
happen.

So..we returned home from Adelaide on Monday night (hello to all the
new Adelaide people on the list!!) after doing something like 22
performances over 8 days. We played in between quilts and chem dry, at
juvenile detention centres, freezing cold beer gardens on rainy night,
sweaty rooms filled with people and smoke, great supportive community
radio stations and just about any where in between. By the final show
though we were very close to hoarse and needing a good sleep.

Twas not to be though..we arrived home at 10pm Monday night only to be
thrown into a sea of dirty clothes, suitcases and bills, all of which
had to be fixed in 12 hours. Then we boarded our first plane to arrive
safely in San Fran, albeit suffering somewhat from sleep deprived
delirium, but safe none the less. So..where the hell did summer go??

We have slept for two days, eaten great food and laughed some and now
we are getting ready to start our shows here. Tonight we are being
interviewed for a documentary that is being put together about Sark and
her work and tomorrow real early we start the media, sound check,
schmoozle bits. The hotel Monaco, where the event is being held, is the
most magical of places. You walk in and are greeted with heavenly
scenes painted on the ceiling, magical staircases that look like they
go to heaven and velvet and cushions and open fires. It is so yummy.
The event sold out weeks ago and we are looking forward to having some
fun with the Americans that are turning up from 22 States across the US
for the night.

So...as I sit and lament the lack of sun and eat bagels and walk the
streets of San Fran (trying to earn some extra money)(teehee..NOT) we
are happy to have moments to rest our souls after what has been a HUGE
year so far. For those folks in Perth we have scheduled another
Candlelight show for Saturday 25th September so get your ticket orders
into Marisa at jo_marisa@.... (We are also looking at possibly
doing one on the Sunday night too if numbers are there) And then
Adelaide folks we are back your way from the 22nd October for the
opening of Feast and three weeks worth of other shows. Sydney &
Melbourne folks we hope to visit you in between times.
