Merry christmas, we wish you a..oh, okay, sure you get it, sure you
have heard that song enough over the past two weeks. I wonder if any of
the folks who wrote those christmas carols, that we have so grown to
love over the years, are still alive today? I wonder if they are hiding
somewhere in fear for their collective lives?

So, in all honesty, we do wish you all a fabulous Christmas and a safe
and raucous new year. And also we would both like to thank you all for
sending us emails, turning up to the shows, buying the cds and telling
your friends. It has indeed been a huge year and 2000 seems to not be
letting up any!

Big plans for 2000, starting with our long awaited live recording. We
are so excited and scared and excited about the whole event! The dates
that have been set for it are Sat Jan 22nd and Sun Jan 23rd, at the
ROck Garden Cafe (Civic Hotel, Beaufort St)..in the room that we had
dubbed 'The Velvet Lounge'. So, ten bucks for the person who guesses
the name of the recording. Yup, 'Live at the Velvet Lounge'. We will
let you know more details about it as we get closer, but please put
those dates in your diary and TELL ALL YOUR FRIENDS! Obviously, with a
live recording one of the main things we require is..a live audience!
Tickets will not be a RED's kinda situation as we are over them, rather
a turn up at the door, or buy your tickets in advance from the venue.
Coming to open the night for us is a fabulous singer/comedian from
South Australia called Mary May Gill. We're talkin one woman comedy
that will have you rolling and get you ready to be loud and boisterous!

We will also be doing at least one major tour in Feb/March through NSW,
Vic, SA and possibly Tasmania. More details as they come to us!!

Come April I will be heading over to the US to begin setting up the
Velvet Janes Corporation(?) and to start putting together tours etc for
us over there. It will mean that we will not tour Australia again until
Oct/Nov at this stage but we will, as always, keep you up to date about
the happenings and goings on as they happen, and go on. Hmm.

But before then..we will be releasing our live album australia wide and
will come and visit you all for tea and cookies. (oh, and the
occasional show)
