Hello and cold weather greetings from San Francisco! You know those
heat waves we were having..for a minute I actually wished them back.
It is bloody freezing over here!!

Just wanted to drop a line to say hi to you all and keep you up to
date with our goings on at the moment. As you probably know, there
are no shows to speak of for the moment and we are busily getting
things set up in the US and Australia for the next phase of Operation
World Domination. (Or something like that!)

A quick recap..the Live CD launch happened in March to a warm and
yummy crowd at the Fly By Night Club in Perth, WA. It was indeed a
nice way for us to send our baby out into the world and we want to
thank you all for coming to that event. It was videoed and somewhere
down the track we are keen to put a live concert video together for
future distribution. Thank you too to all of you who are sending in
your orders for the live one, we are busily sending cds all over the
world at the moment. We are so very proud of this cd and hope that
you like it as much as we do! Would love to hear your feedback on it.

After that I headed off on one hell of a long plane ride to San Fran
and have been here now for the past two and a half weeks. What a spin
out it is! Last weekend I had an opportunity to go to the Californian
Music Awards and hang out side stage and watch the way 'they' do it
all over here. It was awesome to meet artists like 'Smash
Mouth', 'Meshell Ndegeocello', Metallica (teehee!) and some of the
nice boys from 'Rage Against the Machine'. It was wild..and I must
admit kinda scarey as I didn't actually know who most of them were
and kinda made it all up as I went along. It was a real learning time
though to see how it was done. I kinda feel like a sponge at the
moment. Soaking it all up!

So, the next step in the Velvet Janes world is to start preparing the
USA for us. We are hoping to start full on touring here by the end of
this year and at the moment we are both working towards getting wider
independant distribution for our albums through a variety of
different companies. We also have some wild web stuff that will be
happening over the next month and will keep you up to date with all
of that info as we get it!
