YES, these are the sounds that can be heard from The Velvet Janes
camp, as just announced from the Australian Contemporary Music
Touring Program, is that The Velvet Janes were granted $15,000 for
our next Australian tour. THIS means that we are going to be able to
visit alot more country regions and even make it up to Brisbane this
time round!!! It is sooo good that our government is so active within
the arts in Australia and big congratulations to the other Perth
bands that received grants too. It will be a WA takeover in the
Eastern States for Oct/Nov this year!

So, now that I have settled some...hello, hope you are well.

We are so very excited by this news that we can hardly wait to tour
again! This much I can tell you, the tour will start with a show in
Perth on October 20th and then hitting Adelaide on October 21st
before packing up our little tarago and heading up the coast and then
back to Perth. We will, of course, keep you informed about the dates
as they come in, but if you would like to see us in your area..then
now is the time to get your vote in!!! Email Kerrie Sellen at
management@... with your idea of town and venue and we'll
see what we can do!

So, what else can I tell you? Well, this weekend Rose heads of down
the Avalon descent for no doubt some hair raising kayaking, wave to
her as she flies past you in her boat thingy. And I just returned
from attending the Indie Music Conference in Nashville, Tennessee,
where I met some great American independent artists and learn't bits
about the industry here. (Oh, and hung out with ex Perth muso TJ
Dennis!)

We are both busily writing new tunes for the next tour, and I just
realised, that we haven't even brought the new Live CD out to you
folks in the Eastern States, so we look forward to that too!
